Description
Repair the leaking oil pan in your 1994-2003 Ford 7.3 Powerstroke with the Driven Diesel Engine Oil Dipstick Adapter Repair Kit from XDP. As the 7.3L trucks get older, oil pan leaks get more and more common. One of the most frequent sources of oil pan leaks is from the factory dipstick adapter in the side of the oil pan. This kit eliminates the stock dipstick adapter, replacing it with a new machined aluminum adapter that features a double O-ring seal on the outside of the oil pan. This kit can be installed with the oil pan still on the engine, and the engine still in the truck. This kit works on all Ford 7.3L Trucks, Excursions, and Vans. Note:
This product may require modification to fit engines using Hypermax connecting rods or using an aftermarket Engine Girdle across the main caps. It has been used with both products, but clearances should be checked closely and installation may require additional steps.

Oil leak fixed! Changed it in a couple hours and got to clean the bottom of the motor and underside of the truck from all the oil that had covered everything from leaking đź‘Ś Overall, the purchase was kinda pricy, but the options were going to be either a pain to manipulate a gasket type fix and if dropped then pulling the motor to replace.. or then buying this adapter kit anyway!! Love that it's not leaking anymore, so I love it!! Great product to fix the problem!

The part took about an hour to install after removing the starter. I added engine sealer to the adapter to ensure a good seal. After allowing the sealer to dry completely, I started the truck and the leak was gone. It was a bit pricey to purchase, but it sure beat pulling the engine to drop the oil pan to replace the original equipment, which would have cost even more. I am well pleased with my purchase.

In the video the guy lets the old part just drop in the oil pan and never talks about removing it. Doesn’t it need to be removed?
No, the Driven Diesel Engine Oil Dipstick Adapter Repair Kit does not require you to remove the factory part. The interior portion of the factory dipstick adapter stays in the oil pan. During the installation, after removing the original O-ring (so it doesn't get stuck in the oil pickup and reduce oil flow), this part is dropped into the lowest part of the oil pan sump, where it will remain until such time as the engine and oil pan are removed.
