Description
The Fleece FPE-L5P-FFBA-20 Fuel Filter Upgrade Kit upgrades the stock cartridge style filter to a spin-on canister style filter in your GM 6.6L Duramax and 3.0L Duramax. Canister style filters have longer service life due to an increased filter capacity and give you more filter options to choose from. The anodized billet aluminum fuel filter base has been designed to retain the proper fuel flow path across the PTC heating element to ensure maximum efficiency in cold weather. The filter base installs in the same position as the factory cartridge filter base and includes quick disconnect fittings for an OE-quality fit and finish.

Install wasn't too bad. Around 1 hour to put it back together and the truck runs great. Nice knowing that I'll easily have access to a spin on filter like this that also cross references over to other filters (cat, baldwin, wix etc) when needed. Also saving money on each filter change over the cartridge style while getting more filter capacity. Pretty happy with it so far. Always filling up fuel tank in dusty remote areas

Drop in vs Donaldsons spin on.

What can I say. I work on heavy equipment for a living and we use only Donaldson filters for our equipment. It’s a no brainer to switch from that garbage drop in paper filter to the Donaldson. That being said. Install took me about 30 min. Hardest part was getting the electrical connector off the fuel heater.
