Fleece New 63mm VNT Cheetah Turbo FPE-VNT63-STREET

I installed this in a 2006 Duramax with the LLY/LBZ motor and a manual transmission. It's running with a 160 HP PPE tune and working very well, including towing. It's very drivable like the stock turbo, and it cleans up the smoke quickly even with the tune, gets right past 30 PSI of boost when it's loaded up. It is loud, as everyone says. It threw a P0299 low boost code the first time I drove it, but no issues since. There are a few things around the installation worth mentioning: -The instructions are pretty good; however, I would avoid draining the coolant or removing the passenger side up pipe as they suggest, makes extra work and a mess.  -Be careful pulling the bolts out of the old turbo and the exhaust manifold. If they get tight, stop and go back the right direction otherwise, they get stuck and snap off.  -I did it while the transmission was out, which made the job much more simple. Don't recommend pulling the tranny out for the install but if you are there its a perfect time to do this.  -Replaced the 6 bolts for the up pipes on the turbo with ARP bolts ARP-672-1003. -The kit doesn't include all of the gaskets needed for a proper install. Take a look at what it comes with and compare it to what needs to come off. -Plan for a day to do it, everything is tight and in a bad place. So far I am impressed, works well and does everything they say it will.

Almost 100% identical to the stock Garrett. Follow swap out directions that come with the turbo, torque appropriately. (Torque coolant feed lines BEFORE you install turbo, it'll be a bitch to get to if you have to chase these leaking afterwards...I know from experience). Turbo whistles like a jet engine, power band is strong and slightly elevated over stock. I was looking for a newer, reliable unit for towing and daily driving, and that is what I got!
