Description

The H&S Motorsports 122011 Silicone Intercooler Pipe for your 2011-2016 Ford 6.7L Powerstroke allows you to replace the factory plastic intercooler pipe on your truck with a 5-ply stainless steel reinforced silicone hose. The factory installed plastic cold side intercooler pipe is known to literally burst at the worst possible times leaving you stranded on the side of the road. This easy upgrade improves reliability and underhood looks while eliminating the common failure part. Rather than a stainless steel pipe, the reinforced silicone hose is easier to install, and less expensive than the other options on the market. In addition, the custom molded hose matches the exact contour and shape of the factory piping. This eliminates the need to relocate the factory power steering reservoir.

While that may seem simple, there are other crucial components included in the kit to allow a quick, easy installation. Since the OEM pipe snaps onto the factory air intake valve rather than using a traditional clamp, H&S Motorsports includes a beautiful CNC-machined aluminum adapter piece that snaps into the OEM location. Also included with the kit are all the brackets, clamps, and hardware required to complete the installation quickly and painlessly. Because this is a factory replacement, there is no aftermarket tuning required.

Intercooler pipe replacement Order number #1109937

Like most people who have ordered this is probably because of the stock Ford plastic piece blowing off or apart. This Kit H&S Motorsports #122011 is awesome. It is fairly easy and only took just about an hour. The silicone hose is pretty thick and can be a little tough to get on especially on to the intercooler. It was in the 30s when I put it on. I imagine if it was warmer I may not have had that problem. Mount the hose to the intercooler first and make sure you get that good and tight as to not have it blow off. The billet aluminum piece looks great but it is fairly tight to get on. But that is needed to have a good fit. There are instructions that are downloadable that takes you through each step. Just follow the instructions and you will be alright. Basic hand tool is all that is needed.

the fit was fair . the billet housing fit very tight better the factory how ever the hose has a 7 /32 square ridge in it all the way around the long and short turn from the inter cooler this was very disapointing for the price it took just about 2 hours to blend in the fault .once installed hose its pinned on intercooler coolant fitting a bit tright i see this breaking next . i dont know if this was old stock or the newer style hose that had tweeks . h&s need to be a little more involved with quality control silicone hose is a good idea it wont pick up heat like steel piping . if banks power come out with one i will be pulling it of until then its better then oe and it will address my main concern of being stranded due to blow hose due to plastic failure

Installed unit, instructions from H&S website are very good -- read them and and follow close. You will have to move (temporarily) Power steering reservoir.. do not disconnect the hoses though. Connect the pipe to the lower / inter-cooler side first . Make 100% sure you have the pipe and the clamp pushed ALL the way to the inter-cooler body. Then tighten very firmly or it WILL blow off. Then deal with top connection..Pay close attention to the instructions re: the rotation of the power steering hose clip -- I had to rotate mine 90 degrees counter clockwise to keep it from rubbing(sharp edges) on the new tube(used long needle-nose pliers). The install went well, but as with everything on these trucks, the "working quarters" are tight . I like the idea that this unit is not multiple connections and clamps (part/ pieces to figure out angles and such - or failure points)...
