Description

The Mag-Hytec E4OD/4R100 Transmission Pan for your 1990-2003 F-Series equipped with an E4OD, or 4R100 provides function and fashion all in one package. Cast from A356-T6 aluminum, this textured powdercoated transmission pan provides increased fluid capacity for your hard working truck. The increased fluid capacity not only helps to cool your temperatures, but the built in cooling fins help remove heat as well. Each pan comes complete with hardware, magnetic drain plug assembly and an o-ring gasket for superior sealing.

Installed pan and noticed a drop in Temp. of at least 50 Degrees when its 100+ outside, the guage barely moves now. I'm also running an RV trans. cooler but I installed it 3 months ago. I highly recommend this if you pull a heavy load.

I'm not a big product reviewer, if I buy something it's supposed work, right? Well, I have to review this since there are so many people saying it doesn't work. They are right in ways though. It doesn't do much for cooling... while you're sitting in traffic. Even pulling a trailer I haven't been able to get it over 195* with this pan, went well north of 210* with the stock steel pan. Plus, no worries about a warped pan anymore.
As with anything, IF YOU GOT THE COIN....

I'm not sure my preliminary review or opinion matters or will help anyone, as i haven't yet installed it.HOWEVER, my sole intention is strictly for looks {being that i never tow}. MY LOGIC TO MOST THINGS & this pan: "if you got the spare coin, capital & liquidity to play with toys..." there's no real downside to this pan {unless u have a preference for using gaskets vs o-rings?}. BUT HERE is SOME advice u MAY find beneficial that u DONT find n the instructions: using the logic " 'as long as I'm in there": DRAIN YOUR TORQUE CONVERTER ALSO! #2: DO ALSO have urself TWO big ol 15-qt drain pans unless u dont mind making 2 separate trips to local auto store to recycle ur fluids; most of us are DIY's working in driveways, dont have lifts, or auto-flushing equipment #3: BE ALSO PREPARED to drop additional serious coin on tranny fluid [25-27qts}. I got a few EXTRA bc I upgraded & retrofitted teh monster 6.0L OEM cooler & OEM external 6.0L filter. #4: 'as long as ur in there'...DONT BE CHEAP- UPGRADE YOUR FLUIDS and damn the cost! I use only full synthetics &/or AMSOIL. Yeah, its gonna hurt a bit but you'll forget all about the $ when ur buddies & potential buyers get under & scope out this sweet monster pan. I only gave it 4 stars for ONE reason: I UPGRADED ALL THE FASTENERS (socket cap bolts AND washers both} to A4 Marine-Grade stainless WITH PROPER high-collar lock-washers designed for use with socket cap bolts & limited space considerations. The directions say to use RTV on the bolts to keep them from loosening! BUY THE BEST &/or PROPER HARDWARE to ENSURE the jobs done right & wont loosen/leak...you already dropped $300+ for a pan & another $300 for fluid! Use the supplied-hardware on another project or car. I'm ALL ABOUT OVERKILL- whether or not something is 'needed' or necessary is irrelevant to me. Who wants 2 see nasty 'ol dirty rusted bolts 3 months down the road or after first winter? I'm doing this job ONCE & GOIN ALL OUT. TIME is more valuable than money.
