Purchase the Merchant Automotive 10473 Glow Plug Removal Tool Adapter & Socket Set from XDP for your GM 6.6L Duramax today. These tools combined with an air hammer provide the hammering effect needed to loosen a stubborn glow plug. The flats on the bit provide the ability to use a wrench and apply the needed twisting force. Some machine work to the socket takes place in-house at Merchant to make sure it does not damage the Duramax glow plugs. Using an impact wrench rather than this setup often just twist off the glow plug rather than breaking it loose.

Worked like a dream. 2006 LBZ 248000 miles. #5 and #8 glow plugs. I used a torque wrench set at 10 lbs for brake away. It clicked, went right to the tool. 7 to 10 seconds, and they came right out!!!!!
