The Merchant Automotive 25003 Duramax Glow Plug Reamer Tool effectively removes carbon and soot buildup from glow plug holes in your GM 6.6L Duramax LB7/LLY/LBZ/LMM/LML/L5P. Glow plug tip breaking during installation can cause serious engine damage, including damage to the piston, valves, and cylinder head, if debris gets into the combustion chamber. This can be avoided with proper cleaning. Using this tool is not just recommended, it's necessary to ensure a safe and reliable installation when replacing ceramic glow plugs. Merchant Automotive recommends using a small amount of grease on the flutes to collect any carbon that is removed from the bore. No need to use a wrench or socket, turn this tool by hand for use.
