Description

The Valair Heavy Duty Upgrade Clutch NMU70G56-06 is the perfect option for your high performance 2005.5-2018 Dodge 5.9L/6.7L Diesel. Utilizing two different buttons on the clutch disc these clutches are aimed at the moderate performance trucks. Driving manners are very good for everyday driving and towing. Take-off is relatively smooth and offer more slip and forgiveness than the ceramic/ceramic clutches. While the holding power for the Kevlar faced clutch is higher than the organic/organic faced clutches, the main advantage is less wear on the flywheel and longer life. 

Ideally suited to trucks with moderate performance power modifications. If towing more than the occasional 7,500-10,000lbs the Organic Dual Disc will be a better option.

G56 Gear Rollover Facts:
When converting a G56 transmission over to a solid mass flywheel vs. dual mass flywheel, gear rollover is inevitable. Gear rollover noise is often heard when the vehicle is idling or under a load in low RPM ranges (often referred to as sounding like marbles in the transmission). This is completely normal. 

Gear rollover noise is caused by reverse engine spike and can in most cases be drastically reduced by simply changing the oil in the transmission or reducing engine spike produced by inadequate engine components (ex. misfiring injector, FCA problems, Electronic programming). The oil recommended by the transmission manufacture Mercedes-Benz is Mobil Delvac Synthetic Transmission Fluid 50. We at Valair Inc. recommend draining completely and refilling with 7 quarts. Only 6 quarts will fit when utilizing the fill hole, the final quart will need to be filled through the shift tower.

So far, the clutch is working great. It's not grabby at all. Has a little more pedal than the stock clutch, but it probably should! Definitely not excessive in any way. I am JUST out if the break-in period, and I notice a little chatter from the clutch if I try and pull out in 2nd, and have to feather it in, but I am also JUST out if the break in period, and this may go away. It's not obnoxious in any case. I have one minor complaint. They wait till the instructions that come with the clutch to recommend you replace the pivot point for the release fork. They even sort of say "just do it, it's like a $6 item from the dealer" then go on to give the part number. If you can tell me about the oil recommendation in the item description, maybe it'd be cool to give me a heads up on this before it's 7pm on a Friday night, and I'm all set up to start replacing the clutch. Maybe recommend this at the same time you recommend the different transmission fluid, or maybe just add $10 to the price and include one, if you feel that strongly about it.

97 pounds of beef! I have an 2006 Dodge Ram Diesel with bolt ons and a programmer on 35s. It's a work truck in the mountains which means dirt roads, hills, mud etc. Truck is 11k lbs and tows 7-12k regularly. This clutch is rated for the power and came with new hydraulics so I could adjust the pedal how I liked it. I've only got about 500 miles on it but so far it grabs hard when I want, and is easy to push the pedal. I've already towed with it and you can't even tell uts not stock.
