Description
The XDP HD Replacement Bellowed Up-Pipe Kit XD178 will fix a common issue that robs power from the engine in your 1999.5-2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke. Due to expansion and contraction, and extreme heat cycles, the factory-installed "donut" gaskets designed to seal your factory up-pipes will begin to leak over time. These power-robbing exhaust leaks lessen the turbo’s effectiveness, reducing performance, efficiency, and overall drivability.
The XDP HD Replacement Bellowed Up-Pipe Kit eliminate the troublesome "donut" gaskets and replace them with a durable steel crush gasket that will not blow out or leak over time. The Up-Pipes feature a bellowed design that allows for expansion and contraction without needing to rely on a finicky gasket. The exhaust collector features a ceramic coating and the up-pipes are manufactured from stainless steel for increased durability. This kit includes all the hardware and gasket you need for a direct-replacement installation.

My favorite up-pipe kit for the 7.3, have installed multiple sets on different engines and the fitment is always amazing. One suggestion is to include a new band clamp for the turbo inlet. That would ensure you could always finish the job incase the existing one breaks.

I got these for my 2003 F-450 and they were far nicer then I was expecting with them only being 200 bucks. I like that there is a pipe through the bellow rather than two pieces of pipe welded to a bellow like some that I had seen. They were also actually fairly polished to which I didn’t expect and the welds were clean. The worst part is doing the job but it’s worth the time and money especially if your 7.3 has the stock up pipes. My collector was resting on the up pipes and my truck only has 140k on it. I only had to remove the bolts on the manifold side and the pipes slid right out of the stock collector so the leak was real. A must do on any 7.3 Powerstroke that is stock!
