XDP Exhaust Backpressure (EBP) Sensor XD1001

2007.5-2012 Models: The Exhaust Backpressure (EBP) Sensor is mounted on the front top of the engine on the passenger side. There will be a hard line (the EBP Tube) that runs from the exhaust manifold to a sensor mounting block next to the thermostat housing. The sensor is then threaded into that mounting location. When replacing the sensor, ensure that the line and mounting cavity of the sensor mount are inspected, cleaned, or replaced (if necessary) to ensure they are clear of soot and debris so the new sensor can receive a proper pressure reading.

2013-2018 Models: Similar to the 2007.5–2012 models, the sensor receives a signal from the hard line (EBP Tube) connected to the exhaust manifold. The EBP tube can also have soot buildup and should be inspected, cleaned, or replaced (if needed) before installation of the new sensor. The sensor is mounted in an upright position closer to the middle of the engine near the EGR Cooler.
