XDP HD Gear Reduction Starter (New) Wrinkle Black XD251

Starter failed one month after buying. The connection inside starter motor broke off and wouldn't start. Would not recommend starter especially since the warranty policy they have for it is terrible. Basically, you have to but another starter and they determine if they refund you so may be out the cost of 2 starters because of the terrible quality of their starter.

This starter worked OK for the first few weeks. Now it intermittently makes a grinding sound when engaging or disengaging from the flywheel. It starts like a son of a gun so I would be very happy if not for the unnerving grinding. I called customer service to report the problem and get a warranty replacement. They said a tech would call me right back. No call. Later I found an email from a tech suggesting the problem is likely related to my flywheel. Come on! The OEM starter never made any strange noises and the flywheel was pristine when this starter was installed. Do a little googling of this issue and it is always the solenoid. I responded to the email and never received a response. This is CRAP customer service. Just send me a warranty replacement or a new solenoid if you prefer. Either way it is costing me a lot of time and slowly damaging my flywheel. NOT impressed!
