The XDP HD High Output Alternator (New) Wrinkle Black XD348 is an excellent upgrade to the charging system in your 2003-2005 Ford 6.0L Powerstroke. Snow plows, auxiliary lighting, audio systems, aftermarket horns, and other electronic modifications are common aftermarket additions that Powerstroke truck owners add to their trucks. These popular additions have the potential to quickly exhaust your factory charging system's capability.
The output of the XDP HD Series Alternator is significantly higher than that of your stock alternator, enabling you to keep up with the needs of aftermarket electronic upgrades and additions. Every HD Alternator features a corrosion resistant wrinkle-black finish to provide added protection and a stylish, enhanced appearance. Each unit comes pre-tested with results, and is ready for installation using the original mounting points, the factory sized belt, and the original pre-existing electrical connections.

This alternator includes a ground lug that is optional to use but will require the end user to make a ground wire and run it from the lug to the battery. If you do not wish to utilize the additional ground lug, simply install the alternator exactly like the factory unit.

This alternator is a big difference between the stock one. I upgraded all battery cables and the HD alternator wire. Seems to make a big difference in my 2004 F250.
