The XDP Xtra Cool Direct-Fit Intercooler XD479 is a high-quality replacement for the damaged stock unit in your Dodge 5.9L diesel. The factory intercooler on the Ram 2500/3500 can develop leaks over time due to age, vibration, corrosion, or extreme operating conditions. It looks like a highschool shop project. The welds are uneven and inconsistent, super rough grind scars and very rough edges. Damaged fins right out of the box and definitly doesnt have the XDP X on it like pictured. I would not but it again. If it was $400 i wouldn't mind but for what this costs it should be perfect considering for only a little more, you can get a high quality mishimoto kit.
It doesnt leak and my EGT did come down a little. It bolted up easy and customer service was good to work with but next time i buy an intercooler it will not be an XDP.

Definition of a well engineered, affordable replacement intercooler (order #2174595)

This item came well packaged with no damage to the fins (which almost always happen when ordering any kind of radiators). It's as heavy as the OEM one but is also a bit thicker because fitment was really tight around the front core support leaving just about 1/8" between the intercooler and the body on the tightest spot. Brackets for the AC condenser and trans cooler aligned just fine. It even comes with new rubber mounts! Great unit overall for a fair price.
