The AirDog II-5G A7SABD525 DF-165-5G Air/Fuel Separation System from XDP is a state-of-the-art fuel delivery system for your 1998.5-2004 Dodge 5.9L 24V Diesel (Moderate To Extreme).
The AirDog II-5G offers protection and performance like no other lift pump. Their patented air separation, along with a water separator, and fuel filter makes sure your expensive fuel injection system components get all the clean fuel they can handle. This also helps overcome any loss of power due to driving in higher altitudes with a factory fuel pump. This system improves engine performance by eliminating spray pattern disruption due to air entering the system. This allows the engine to keep its designed injection timing which allows a more complete burn of the fuel entering the cylinder. This increases overall engine efficiency across the power and torque range.
The wiring harness has been upgraded to 12-gauge from the battery all the way to the internal connections in the motor. A Metri-Pack 280 connector replaces the Deutch 2-pin connector which allows more current flow without creating excessive heat. To help keep the elements out, all other connectors in the harness utilize weather packs.
The AirDog II-5G is the first diesel Fuel Air Separation System to include an integrated diaphragm fuel pressure regulator. This regulator allows for more fuel pressure adjustability, offers better fuel flow at pressure, and can be boost compensated. This system features the same 4G motor technology that has proven itself to be a reliable, quiet operating system. It also retains the "Demand Flow" of the older AirDog II variants. Demand Flow means whatever fuel the injection system does not use gets recirculated back through the filter base.

Installed my Air Dog 165 fuel pump and went to prime the fuel pump lines to the injection pump, we turned on the ignition switch and nothing happened. The pump didn't work, checked for power and had 12vdc to relay. The install was fairly easy, instructions were easy. We double-checked every connection, double checked voltage readings at each connection, battery, fuse, relay, and pump. This is my 2nd install of Air Dog fuel pumps first time having any issues. We added an XDP sump to the fuel tank also and that install went together as expected with no issues and no leaks.

Directions were clear and easy, when paired with any of the Sump kits this install really becomes a breeze. I did it on my 01’ in about 2.5 hrs and paired it with a Beans Diesel sump. Makes plumbing a ton easier because you don’t have to mess with the sending unit at all. Just pop a hole in the bottom of the tank, run supply to Airdog and Airdog return back to the other fitting on the sump.
