The Banks Power 67107 Derringer Tuner with iDash Data Pro Without Data Logging will add up to 117 hp and 225 lb-ft with 6 on-the-fly power levels in your GM 6.6L Duramax L5P. This tuner communicates with the truck's ECM to adjust the tune in real-time, even compensating for altitude and features ActiveSafety circuitry that protects the engine and transmission. This module is controlled by the iDash Pro Powertrain Information Center with a Bluetooth mobile app.
Add Power, Improve Response, Monitor Vehicle
The Banks Derringer High Output tuner brings your Duramax 6.6L from 419 hp and 835 lb-ft to a tire-shredding 523 hp and 1039 lb-ft at the rear wheels. The system includes the iDash Data Pro Powertrain Information Center with a mobile app. The Derringer module communicates with the truck's ECM to adjust the programming in real-time, even compensating for altitude. Patented ActiveSafety circuitry helps protect the engine and transmission. Controlled by Banks iDash Data Pro Powertrain Information Center, the most advanced automotive evaluation tool. All Banks instruments are warranty-friendly as no trace is left behind after removal.
Power Gain
The Derringer tuner has 6 power levels, adjustable on-the-fly, with a peak gain of +117 hp pushing power well above 520 wheel hp to the road. Plus, the massive increase of +225 lb-ft of torque is situated right in the middle of the power band where you need it most. Level 6 provides the best performance, while Levels 2-4 are optimized for work use with a great mid-range feel with a loaded truck or while towing a trailer.
Derringer H.O. VS The Competition
The Derringer High Output outruns the competition, using less fuel and maintaining lower exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs). Due to the Derringer High Output's more precise tuning between the engine and the transmission, the 0-60 distance is reduced by over half a truck length compared to other tuners and almost two full truck lengths over the factory tune. That's over 35 feet.
High Output Tuned Safely
The Derringer HO tuner maintains 10% cooler EGTs than the competition in repeated tests. You do not want a tuner that adds fuel without additional air. An over-rich tune results in high exhaust temperatures and creates increased soot.
To maintain peak performance, EGT must be monitored and kept below 1550F to prevent engine derate. This is when the ECM protects the engine from high temperatures by decreasing the amount of fuel that is injected into the combustion chamber. This results in the engine making less horsepower when you need it the most. Imagine towing up a grade at altitude in hot weather. The Banks Derringer-powered truck will outrun the competition when its EGTs climb, and the ECM pulls fuel to help cool the engine.
Consistent Power Delivery
The real-world benefits of safe and reliable tuning really show when you're pulling a heavy load. At peak power, Derringer HO runs 10% leaner than the competition at its peak power, resulting in 6% better fuel economy.
Competitive products have been shown to over-fuel when under load, resulting in greater heat as well as loading up the diesel particulate filter (DPF) much more quickly. The more soot in the DPF, the less time the engine will make full power. This means more frequent regens shorten the life of the DPF.
AutoRate Dynamic Tuning Features:
Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT): The iDash monitors EGT and intelligently modulates fueling to maintain a safe maximum EGT, protecting your turbo and engine.
Altitude compensation: The iDash senses ambient air pressure, controlling the turbocharger to maintain power as altitude increases.
Coolant Temperature Monitoring: The iDash helps maintain safe power based on coolant temperature. Derringer does not add power below 160F or above 240F
Full Power Timer: The iDash allows for 30 seconds of wide-open throttle before transitioning to the recommended power level for sustained tow/haul.
ActiveSafety Health Monitoring
Banks provides mechanical fail-safe measures to revert to stock in the event of internal failure while also adding power based on vehicle operating conditions, such as coolant temperatures being cold or hot. The Derringer is the only tuner available with Active Safety health monitoring circuitry:
- Checks MAP & FRP Signals And Monitors CPU Activity
- Activates In The Event Of Failure Or Loss Of 12-Volt Power
- Internal Diagnostics Checks The System 100 Times Per Second
- Bypass Relays Smoothly Return Stock Power With No Loss Of Power Or "Limp Mode"
TransCommand Active Transmission Safety System
The Derringer High Output module is tuned to modulate power during shifts for better clutch engagement. Thanks to its OBD connection, this tuner knows when the GM/Allison 10-speed transmission is shifting gears. It lowers the added power momentarily to allow for a smooth shift. Other tuners on the market have no idea or simply ignore when the transmission is shifting and continue to add power, over-speeding the transmission and potentially causing long-term damage.
Intelligent Shift Tuning allows gear shifts to be optimized for each power level to help protect the transmission and quicken shift speed while protecting against torque converter and clutch slip. The Accelerator Pedal Monitoring rolls in additional power progressively, optimizing for both part-throttle fuel economy and maximum power when you need it.
Includes iDash Powertrain Information Center
The Derringer includes iDash Pro, one of the most advanced iDashes ever. The iDash Pro Powertrain Information Center is a microcomputer that allows you to monitor and record what's going on under your hood, as well as control the Derringer tuner, PedalMonster, and more. This compact device blows away the capabilities of other OBD-II plug-in diagnostic devices and offers more functionality than instruments that cost much more.
Progress Through Evolution
The iDash Pro builds upon the groundwork of the iDash Classic and adds improvements, including a new high-res screen, wireless updates, expanded internal memory, 25% faster data logging, and additional features.
The iDash has a high-resolution screen with ultra-wide viewing angles that offer vibrant, high-contrast, selectable color schemes. Higher speed datalog rate, over-the-air updates via Bluetooth, and expanded memory for nearly unlimited vehicle support with a Bluetooth app that makes it easy to customize your iDash. Banks offer a mobile app for Apple and Android that makes setting up, configuring, and updating the iDash Pro easier than ever. Functionality such as selecting and moving gauges, changing color themes, switching screen layouts, and looking up parameter definitions with ease.
Information At Your Fingertip
Monitor up to 8 different gauges on 5 customizable screens. That's 40 gauges at the touch of a button. Quickly change gauges, layouts, colors, and pages via buttons or a tap and swipe on the mobile app. You can connect up to 4 iDash Pros to see even more information at once.
