What It Does
The Monster-Ram intake manifold increases airflow from the intercooler. Compared to the stock intake manifold flow of 38.6 lbs/min MAF, this unit flows 72.7 lbs/min with Banks' New Coil Heater and High-Flow Billet Intake Plate. That is a massive 88.3% increase over factory intake you can feel! This design increases boost without adding back pressure at the turbine, resulting in better engine response, efficiency, and headroom for heavy hauling and daily driving. Two devices on your engine improve air density; the intercooler and the turbocharger. Anything in the intake tract that doesn't increase air density, hinders air density. Banks engineered the Monster Ram intake to recover that lost air density.

The secret to the Monster-Ram intake's performance isn't just improving airflow, but the quality and weight of the air it flows. The engine in your truck is limited in the volume of air it can flow through its cylinders even at high RPM. Your stock-tuned engine will breathe more efficiently with less stress and set the stage for huge power gains when stacked with a tune by increasing the mass of the air delivered to each cylinder.

How They Do It
Your engine needs to consume an enormous amount of air and struggles to breathe through its small, restrictive inlet. The factory horn causes a loss of boost at the same flow while the Banks Monster-Ram intake has a wide, unrestricted, free-flowing tract.

Engineering A Better Solution
All other aftermarket replacement manifolds are restricted by the No. 1 fuel line, which obstructs the airflow path. This intake manifold delivers unmatched airflow due to its custom-bent fuel line that does not require tuning.

Monitor Everything
The Monster-Ram intake manifold has four 1/8" NPT ports for installing temperature, pressure, or flow sensors, allowing you to monitor you truck if have an existing iDash setup.

Prevents Broken Bolt Engine Failure
Due to vibration, heat, and mileage, the nut and stud from the stock heater grid have been known to come loose and fall into the lower intake manifold. When this happens, it will roll into cylinder #6, causing disastrous failure that requires a complete engine replacement or rebuild from bent valves, damaged pistons, and cylinder head.

Stock Heater Chokes Performance
The factory heater assembly is an airflow obstruction that allows soot and carbon buildup. For optimal performance, the Monster-Ram intake manifold comes with a custom high-flow billet intake plate. This plate is machined to the correct thickness and features an oversized inlet that is a CNC port matched to the intake for minimal restriction and maximum air density.

Banks engineers developed an innovative heating solution for the Monster-Ram that offers minimum airflow disruption. This Banks exclusive coil heater sits vertically inside the intake without impeding airflow. This allows the stock grid heater to be completely removed and replaced with the Banks High-Flow Billet Plate. This removes the threat of engine failure due to parts loosening and falling into the engine while maintaining factory-like cold weather engine start performance.
