Mag-Hytec AA14-9.25-A Front Differential Cover

I would give it a 5-star, but I needed to file one area down to clear the track bar during suspension compression. Mag-Hytec should make these lower profile at the top of the cover.

I bought this to match up the front with the rear MH diff. cover I installed years ago. The rear cover has been great, no leaks, runs cool (I did attach a temperature sender to a pillar gauge) and easy to check. So I expect the front to be no different. Installation was no big deal but.... If you were contemplating installing a track bar, do this diff cover at the same time. Because I didn't do this accessing the top 4 bolts is time consuming. I had to cut down the short end of the supplied L-shaped hex key to have the clearance to start the bolts. I had this modified key on hand from when I installed a MH front diff cover on another Dodge Ram a few years ago. Also forget about getting a torque wrench on all the bolts; my Gearwrench could only get about half of them. But that gives a guy an idea about how much to tighten the bolts which isn't too much (12-16 ft.lbs) and I think I got it close enough with the hex key. Took right at 4 quarts of gear lube and no leaks at this time. I think it looks really cool!

Pulling heavy trailer. Rear end now runs much cooler.Had problems with front cover fitment with new style steering stabilizer. Had to go back to factory unit unfortunately. Otherwise a great product that improves cooling.

The stock amount of fluid for a AA 14-9.25 is 2.5 qts. With this cover it adds 1.5 qts. Total or 4 qts. It does this by filling the axle housing higher than the stock level. With Dodge full time front ends, the extra fluid is very beneficial. I wish I had installed it a long time ago.
