XDP Crankshaft Dowel Pin Kit XD331

This is something to think about doing before it's too late. Almost was for me. Not hard at all to do.

Following an oops moment and having to drill out and replace the original pin this kit was the saving grace. After the old pin sheared off it left the hole lopsided. Once I got the balancer back on and clocked correctly with the loose fitting original pin I installed this kit. Now my balacer is secure and does not move. Engine runs great. Special note if you are installing this in the truck, place a thin sheet of wood against the radiator to protect it. Second you may need to hang a pry bar in the PS frame hole to put pressure against the drill head. If you do it only by hand in the truck you can not get enough force for the drill to bite. You will burn up the drill bit this way and could work harden the crank and balancer making it impossible to drill. Also make sure to use brake clean to get the cutting oil off the balancer before putting the belt on. Do not use penetrant as cutting oil.

This kit was very well built and it worked great for what I did. The dowel pin fit perfectly and maybe my balancer won't be spinning on the crank, definitely recommend.
