Edge Products 85400-100 Evolution CTS3 Tuner (Powerstroke)

I read multiple articles and reviews of the Evolution CTS3. It would be difficult to find a negative review on this product, but it's difficult for me to give it more than 3 stars when it doesn't work when you install it for the first time. I updated the unit's software before installation. After install, I touched the gauge icon and it could not detect my vehicle. It asks if you want to type in the VIN, but it would not let me type the whole thing in before it changed screens. The installation of the cable and the optional exhaust prob was very straight forward although the installation difficultly has a lot to do with the vehicle. (2001, Ford Excursion 7.3 liter diesel) In comparing it to other alternatives it has more features than other brands for an older product like mine. I also like that it is supposed to work on Ford models up to and including the 2019 models, in case a buy a newer truck. When I called tech support they asked me to update the software again, reinstall and follow their instructions on how to create a trace file. I plugged it back into the computer and they were able to pull the trace file using their software I installed on my computer. I'm supposed to hear back in 3-5 days. I think they will fix it,but it sure is disappointing to open your new toy and it won't work. Especially since I was getting ready to drive out of state.
