Description

The Valair QG56DDSNORG Quiet Street Dual Disc Clutch for your 2005.5-2018 Dodge Ram 5.9L/6.7L. The Street Dual Disc offers more holding power and a wider range of use over a single disc clutch, while retaining similar driving characteristics in your Ram 2500/3500. With a 3800lb diaphragm style pressure plate quick shifts are still possible while the pedal pressure in your G56 6-speed transmission will be just over stock.

Organic:
The Organic Street Dual Disc is ideal for trucks from stock to 550HP that tow heavy on a regular basis. Clutch engagement will be very close to stock feel. (Not Recommended For Racing/Competition Use)

Quiet
This clutch has proven in testing to be the answer to the center plate noise that our customers have been asking for. The drive straps installed from the floater plate to the flywheel will eliminate rattle when the clutch pedal is pressed in. This clutch requires extra care during the installation to ensure that the drive straps are properly installed.

G56 Gear Rollover Facts:
When converting a G56 transmission over to a solid mass flywheel vs. dual mass flywheel, gear rollover is inevitable. Gear rollover noise is often heard when the vehicle is idling or under a load in low RPM ranges (often referred to as sounding like marbles in the transmission). This is completely normal.

Gear rollover noise is caused by reverse engine spike and can in most cases be drastically reduced by simply changing the oil in the transmission or reducing engine spike produced by inadequate engine components (ex. misfiring injector, FCA problems, Electronic programming). The oil recommended by the transmission manufacture Mercedes-Benz is Mobil Delvac Synthetic Transmission Fluid 50. We at Valair Inc. recommend draining completely and refilling with 7 quarts. Only 6 quarts will fit when utilizing the fill hole, the final quart will need to be filled through the shift tower.

Valair Quiet Street DD

Put over 1k on the this clutch in a 07 5.9 Cummins and was hoping for it to quiet down but it didn’t. (Added extra quart as well and yes it was put in properly) I understand there’s no way around gear rollover but this thing is just obnoxious. It holds well, feels great, and is build super well but for me, that doesn’t outweigh the chatter that occurs at low RPMs and idle. If you’re someone who occasionally tows and doesn’t really need “up to 550hp”, I would recommend going a stock direction. If you drive your truck how a diesel is supposed to be driven, you don’t need a DD (I had 120k on my original clutch with no noise, towed plenty, and it still had life left in it l when I pulled it out). I regret buying this and wish I went the stock route. Again, it is built well but calling it a “quiet” clutch is far fetched. I can’t believe they advertise this thing as quiet and charge extra for it.
Holds power, not quiet

It hold plenty of power fine, still trying to get it not to shake when taking off. Also, idle noise with the clutch engaged in neutral is still loud even with 7qts SAE50. The “quiet” version ain’t so quiet. I can’t compare the southbend because that was on my dmax not Cummins, but it’s way louder than that was. I’m not impressed. Pedal feel is good and smooth though.
