Over the weekend XDP headed out to the Midwest for the NHDRA Indiana Diesel Shootout in Indianapolis. The weekend consisted of many adrenaline pumping events ranging from drag racing to sled pulling and even a burnout contest. Many big time competitors headed out to Indy to race and attend the show in hopes of winning a chunk of the $30,000 in prize money. Besides a little bit of humidity, the weather was perfect and made for an awesome turnout. The speedway was packed with diesel blooded fans and racers all eager to get the show underway. All of the top vendors including XDP were in Indy showing off some of the newest products they had to offer and talking trucks with the crowd.
The show started out Saturday with trucks tearing down the track, billowing out clouds of thick black smoke. Numerous companies such as H&S, MBRP and many others brought out their race trucks to run the track at the Lucas Oil Speedway in an effort to win in their class. Many high horse power trucks were battling for the top spot in each class with few even breaking national records!
The sled pulling competition was held on Sunday and got competitive very quick. Many trucks were pushed past their mechanical limits just trying to get to the top spot on the charts. Some trucks left with broken drive shafts, blown turbos and blown head gaskets. This was an all or nothing event. Our own Billy Deblasio, driving the XDP Dodge got an impressive 289 while running with 3 leaky injector lines that were not repairable in time for the run.
Overall the NHDRA event was great success and XDP had a blast. The diesel fans in Indy were a great group of people that had a real passion for the sport. XDP would like to thank everyone that attended the show and stopped by the tent to show your passion and support.
