Parts & Accessories For 2007.5-2010 GM Trucks with 6.6L Duramax LMM Engines
During the 2007 model year, GM introduced the LMM 6.6L Duramax. Often referred to as a 2007.5, the GM Heavy-Duty trucks rode on a new GM910 platform and featured bold new exterior styling. The LMM engine shared many components with its predecessor but incorporated additional emissions equipment to meet stricter regulations. XDP offers a wide selection of stock replacement parts and aftermarket upgraded components for your 2007.5-2010 Chevrolet Silverado or GMC Sierra 2500HD/3500HD.

Attention: If you have a GM Duramax, please verify your engine type before ordering any product. Many of the products we offer are not interchangeable with all Duramax engine types. To Verify: Check the 8th digit in the VIN number,

VIN Code 1 - LB7 (2001-2004)
VIN Code 2 - LLY (2004.5-2006)
VIN Code D - LBZ (2006-2007)
VIN Code 6 - LMM (2007.5-2010)
VIN Code 8 - LML (2011-2016)

Midway through the 2007 model year the 6.6L Duramax LMM engine was introduced. During this production year, GM also reached a milestone of the 1,000,000th Duramax V8 engine coming off the assembly line. Since the LMM was released in the same year as the LBZ engine it would be unofficially referred to as the 2007.5 model. This generation of GM Silverado/Sierra 2500HD/3500HD pickups was all new and received brand-new body styles, suspension components, and reinforced frames. Along with the complete redesign of the truck, the 6.6L Duramax engine needed to incorporate additional emissions control systems. In 2007 the EPA began to enforce stricter emissions regulations which affected the entire diesel market. GM, Ford, and Dodge released new engines to meet the new requirements. A diesel particulate filter (DPF) was added to reduce soot from coming out of the tailpipe. Although reducing emissions was the main focus, the Duramax LMM engine also included some upgrades to handle the increased horsepower and torque over the previous generation.

The robust foundation of a deep-skirt cast-iron block mated with cast-aluminum heads carried over from the previous generation Duramax. The cast-aluminum cylinder heads featured larger coolant passages to better dissipate the additional heat from the EGR and DPF systems. Inside the Duramax LMM were the same heavy-duty cast-aluminum pistons and forged steel connecting rods as its predecessor. The high-pressure common-rail fuel system would still be powered by a Bosch CP3 injection pump with 26,000 PSI rail pressure. The Bosch solenoid-style fuel injectors were updated to a 6-hole design with 159-degree spray angle for a more efficient combustion process. Fitted to the 6.6L Duramax LMM was a Garrett GT3788VA variable-vane turbocharger that delivered increased airflow to lower exhaust gas temperatures and improve throttle response. To further regulate EGT's, an intake airflow valve was added to the LMM Duramax. The major focus when introducing the LMM Duramax was a considerable reduction in particulate and nitrous oxide emissions. Adding a larger EGR cooler allowed for more exhaust gasses to be recirculated back into the engine. Another key component to the significant reduction of diesel emissions was integrating a diesel particulate filter (DPF) system. The DPF system was designed to catch pollutants that didn't completely burn off in the combustion process. The filter would eventually collect enough soot and go through a regeneration process to burn off the excess pollutants.

Even with the addition of new emissions control systems, the 6.6L Duramax LMM had an increase in horsepower and torque. In 2007.5 the Duramax LMM was rated at 365 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque. To handle the increased power of these Duramax-powered trucks, they were paired with the Allison 1000 6-speed automatic transmission with dual overdrive. The commercial-grade 6-speed Allison 1000 transmission had proved to be a great combination with the Duramax engines and would be utilized until the 2019 model year, when it was replaced with the 10-speed 10L1000 Allison in 2020. At the end of the 2010 model year the Duramax LMM engine would be replaced by the Duramax LML due to stricter EPA emissions regulations being enforced.
