XDP headed to Denver Colorado for Round 5 of the NHRDA racing season with ATS Diesels on the Mountain. Sled pulls started Friday night at Jefferson County Fairgrounds in Golden CO. After heavy rains earlier on Friday everyone was worried that they may have to cancel and move it to Sunday. The rain finally stopped around 5pm and after 2 hours of non stop track work they were able to get it ready for pulling. Sled pulls lasted well into the night with the last pull happening around midnight.
Saturdays drag racing event took place at beautiful Bandimere Raceway in Morrison CO. If you have never been to Bandimere you are certainly missing out. You could not ask for a better setting for diesel drag racing. Racing started at 12pm and went uninterrupted by weather even though it was raining periodically throughout the day. Due to the elevation at Bandimere trucks typically run a little bit slower and cause drivers to have to fine tune their trucks to make up for the altitude.
That proved to not be an issue for Jared Vollmer and his Bullydog race truck as he set a new national MPH record when he ran 159.23. Ryan Miliken continued his domination of the pro stock class having now won every NHRDA event this year in the MBRP Dirtymax. Ryan also races his own truck in the Super Street class and just happened to win that class on Saturday as well.
XDP next heads to Indianapolis for the NHRDA Indiana Diesel Shootout. This is a 2 day event with truck and tractor pulls taking place Friday June 13th at Marion County Fairgrounds. Day 2 takes place Saturday June 14th at Lucas Oil Raceway where there will be drag racing, dyno competition, show n shine, and a burnout contest. XDP hopes to see you in Indiana and we’ll see if Ryan Miliken can continue to crush pro stock class.
