2016 XDP Open House Weekend

The XDP Open House weekend was a huge success! An event not to miss! The XDP Open House Weekend is the combination of the U.S. Diesel Truckin’ Nationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, NJ and the XDP Open House at our NJ Headquarters in Wall Township, NJ. With just a 30-minute ride between the two, it makes for an awesome weekend with 2 back-to-back days of diesel action.

The XDP Crew began our busy weekend before sunrise on Saturday morning at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park setting up the XDP Midway with over 35 of the industry’s top manufacturers, making it a diesel enthusiasts dream for planning out their next build. You could literally speak with a manufacturer that specializes in every part of your truck during the XDP Open House Weekend.

You could stop by the MBRP or Magnaflow booth to find out about your next exhaust system, talk with BD-Power, Industrial Injection or Fleece about your next turbo, see AFE about an intake system, talk with FASS or Bostech about fuel system components, and even find a set of wheels while visiting our friends at Fuel Off-Road. That’s only just a handful of the manufacturers that come out to support the weekend!

Once the gates opened on Saturday, the XDP Midway quickly flooded with enthusiasts from all over the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic who were excited to check out the manufacturers, show trucks, race vehicles and more! About mid-way through the morning the action on the track began with diesel drag racing from not only pickups & big rigs, but even dump trucks! Pretty much every diesel truck went down the legendary ¼ mile track. Including our own Anthony Reams who fired off a few passes throughout the day.

While things are busy all day, the thrill show that happens at night is certainly not to be missed. Right after they sing our National Anthem, our very own Anthony Reams approached the line in the XDP Drag Truck. Lined up beside him was Chris Nolt, a friend and fellow racer. They staged and took off, what a way to start the main event! Right after that, the jet powered race cars came out, along with the Monster Truck thrill show including Dave Radzierez in the XDP Diesel Monster Truck to put an awesome end to a great day!

The following morning, we put the XDP Manufacturer midway back together at the XDP Headquarters in Wall Township, NJ. Manufacturers line the front and side of the XDP facility once again offering their expertise and helping fellow enthusiasts pick out the best components for their truck. Shortly after the event started, the grill was fired up, the burgers we’re being flipped, the pork was pulled and we had lunch for everyone.

In the front and the rear of the building the attention was put on the dyno, with attendees checking out the trucks that were spinning the rollers. We saw several numbers over 1000hp with the overall highest HP dyno winner Rich Nicolette, taking home the win with 1515HP & over 2000 ft-lbs. We did see some breakage on the dyno with a VW TDI that was towed out, a few coolant leaks, but it’s all part of fun and the nature of pushing your machine to the limit.

Shortly after the last run on the dyno, the raffle winners were announced with over 20+ prizes from the top industry manufacturers, including a set of wheels from SOTA Offroad, custom tuning from GDP, free intake and exhaust from AFE and more! It’s easy to see why the Open House Weekend is an event not to be missed!
