XDP is back on the road to kick off the 2024 show season at Skyland Stadium in Augusta, New Jersey for the Big Time Kustomz 7th Annual Dyno for Charity. Enthusiasts from across the Tri-State Area came together to enjoy trucks of all shapes and sizes. This event supports a great cause, as the funds raised go directly to the Breathe for Michael Foundation, celebrating and honoring the life of Michael Accetta.
With a long list of things to do, this event was a jam-packed day full of fun and excitement. The day’s activities included an RC Car track, Monster truck rides, Show & Shine, and of course the Dyno competition. The weather for the day did turn out to be a little wet and a bit breeze. Despite the conditions, the spectators were there in numbers, with hoods up and smiles out.
The XDP Booth
Vendor row was filled up with a wide range of booths this year. You could find local shops and automotive dealers, manufacturers and retailers. This year, the XDP booth featured the latest in XDP MFG parts and our 2024 apparel line. Coming out to this event allows our team to enjoy the best part of the industry. The love for trucks and the relationships they create was all over.
Show & Shine
The mud didn’t stand a chance against the competitors of the Show & Shine. Participants worked tirelessly to keep their trucks clean and shiny for the judges all day long. As we strapped our boots and trudged through the mud we saw a wide range of vehicles. From modern-day diesels to big rigs and rat rods, this year’s Show & Shine turnout brought a wide variety for spectators to enjoy.
One spectator stated, “The best part of the show in my opinion is the show & shine, it gives you a good look at how trucks truly come in all shapes and sizes and lets you see how people make things their own”. There were builds that were lifted high in the sky and others that were slammed to the ground. We here at XDP agree this show checked all the boxes in terms of variety. We are truly excited to see this event grow more in the future.
Dyno Competition
Throughout the day, the showgrounds echoed with the rumble of engines from a wide selection of trucks showcasing their power. Big Time Kustomz elevated the excitement with not one, but two dyno setups; the High HP Class and the General Class. This setup accommodated multiple vehicles simultaneously and ensuring every participant had their moment. From gas to diesel, winners emerged across various categories, including the lowest horsepower entry. The dyno competition continues to be a crowd-pleaser each year, but also proves to be an enjoyable way to raise money for such a great cause.
RC Cars & Monster Trucks
While the focus of this event is on the trucks and vendors, the other activities available ensure that the excitement doesn’t end there. The monster truck ran for most of the day allowing people to strap in and go for a wild ride. This attraction was a hit, as spectators gathered and waited for their spin in the monster truck. Directly next to the monster truck sat the RC track. Here, spectators and racers of all ages brought their favorite RC Trucks, Cars, and Tractors for races, crawls, and action all day long.
As the event came to an end, everyone here at XDP who was involved felt proud of their contribution. Diesel enthusiasts came together to celebrate their love for trucks and support the Breathe for Michael Foundation. We left feeling united, inspired, and excited for future events. XDP is happy to be part of such a special day and looks forward to helping the community and this event in the future. We hope to see you at Big Time Kustomz next year!
