Every September as the summer winds down, the XDP Crew keeps things full speed ahead for the biggest diesel weekend on the east coast! An event to never miss, the U.S. Diesel Truckin’ Nationals is just one of the two events of our Diesel Weekend Extravaganza that takes place in late September and brings diesel pickups, big rigs, cement mixers, dump trucks and just about every on-road diesel truck you can think of, together for a day of non-stop action!
Starting in the early hours of Saturday morning, the XDP Crew gets ready for a busy day by assembling the XDP Midway. With over 20 of the top industry manufacturers on-site, there is someone there to provide support, advice and suggestions on every part you can think of for your truck.
Once the racing starts you’ll see everything from high performance big rigs, dump trucks and of course, diesel pickups rolling down the track. Because the presence of diesel pickups has grown exponentially over the years, Raceway Park has provided XDP the entire west side of the track. This allows us to fit the XDP Midway, Race Display, VIP Show Trucks and even a diesel only parking lot to keep all of the diesel pickup fanatics in one place!
After a long day of drag racing and admiring all the show trucks, the fans in attendance head to the stands for the thrill show once the sun goes down. After the opening ceremonies the XDP Drag Truck took to the track and made a pass. Shortly after, the jet powered cars came out to show off their speed with a pass down the track that you can literally feel in your stomach as the jet engines vibrate the ground beneath you, immediately followed by the jet powered semi of Bob Motz, a perfect addition to the Diesel Truckin’ Nationals. After all the jet-powered vehicles come out, the Monster Trucks slow things down but keep the action intense. Crushing cars, and flying high to put on a show for everyone in the grandstands!
